Interview with baller brown

It's a hot Friday afternoon and I'm interviewing baller brown a female rapper whose hitting the open Mic circuit hard. I saw her at a open mic show in the L.E.SIDE of Manhattan her lyrics was hard hitting but still had a smooth almost reminded me of big daddy kane so I wanted to introduce her to y'all so here's baller brown.

What's good?
LIFE is good, Working Hard is good, Being positive is good, Making Music is GREAT, And GETTING/ MAKING Money is EVEN BETTER!! #lol #real rapLife

Where you from?
BALLER BRown Represents, born and raised in the BRONX, New York!! Holla!! Birth Place of the Culture and Art!!

What's Your nationality?
In America.. Im Just Black!! Lmao..But I am Mixed..African american and Black Foot Indian from my mother's side and From my Father's side.... Antiguan (west indian), Panamanian, Dominican, The list goes on and on... Im Mixed.

How long you've been rapping ?
I have been spitting Lyrics and CRUSHING Bars since the age of 8 years old.

What inspired you to become a rapper ?
I never really looked at any one and said I want to be like that rapper or he/she influenced me.... the Culture and Art of hip hop I fell in in love with and music helped me through difficult times in my life. I started Free styling and writing and noticed my barz and rhymes were better than my peers so I continued to freestyle, write rhymes, and rap. I always LOVED POETRY... So Poetry also influenced me to rhyme. So no one inspire me.. The Love of the Art and Culture did.

Are there any rappers who inspire You?
My favorite rapper is Nas so he is definetly an inspiration... Besides him, Black Thought of the roots, M.O.P, The Lox are among my favorites who I would say are inspire me. Also Kanye West. Also Super Natural the Freestyler inspire also. Seeing Wack rappers Like Soldier Boy eating made me want to take Rapping more serious.

What was the first thing that told you yes I want to rap?
THe First thing that told me yes.... I want to rap... is when I started Free styling off the top of the head and realized how good I was!!! That made me be like YES!!! I want To rhyme and I LOVE THIS! I just have a Way with words.

As a female artist do you think it's more competition?
HELL YES!!! Because as a female artist you "supposed to fit a mold or image". If you don't fit that image then its harder as a female artist to be respected. But IM UP FOR THE challenge and DEMAND MY RESPECT. So if im not shaking or showing ass and breast; not only do I have to compete with other female artist but EVERY male rap artist too!!

What do you feel about the female rap game?
I feel like the female rap game is TRASH NOW!! Only One Female dominants the game at a time now.. Before you had Queen Latifah..MC LYTE.. Lauren Hill, etc... More than one female could be relevant in the game. Its not really like that any more. Also, today..Its more about sex and Ignorance selling. so the game is a little funky for females.

Other than rap do you do anything else produce, ghost write etc?
I have Ghost written in the past. But Produce No!! One thing i do Love to do is Inspire people to follow their dreams and be GREAT AT WHATEVER YOU WANT TO DO! gotta Work hard for it Thou!! For real!

Are you currently working on any projects ?
yes I am. I dropped my mix tape "Just Getting warmed up earlier this year, check that out on BALLERBROWN.com ..and I also completed a Compilation album with The Producers The BakerMen which I'm sitting on right now that is FIRE!! Believe me. be released soon hopefully I am also collaborating with other up and coming artist and working with a New young Talented artist named Kyrsis on his Mix tape. So Im trying to stay busy and build this fan base by ANY MEANS!

Are there any artist you would want to work with?
Yes- I would love to work with Nas, Kanye west, Black Thought of the roots, Marsha Ambrosius, french Montana, Andre 3000, a lot of people. Producers...9th wonder, Swiss beats..., Arab Music.
Where do you see hip-hop is headed?- I hope it heads back to the art of lyricism and having content or something to say. Real hip hop fans still yearn for the true essence of the art. I hope it goes back there. But If it stays on this path where it is today..It will head towards more SWAG Rap/music not so much talent or Promoting IGNORANCE and Sex to SELL Records!

Any shout outs you wanna give?
I want to give a Shout out To YOU-Kanowlege... for the Interview.. THANK YOU for the opportunity !!! And a BIG shout out to GOD for blessing with my gift and making who I am! TEAM GOD Baby!!

Aaron p interview

What's good?
What's really good? And if you say to me back: What's really really good? Then I would say: What's really really REALLY good? And there would never be an ending to that.

Where you from?
The bogie down BX... Just kidding. I always wanted to say that. It's just cool to be from the bronx I guess. But no, I'm from Wash Heights (Washington Heights), NYC. Not born, but raised.

What's your nationality?
U.S.A. ALL-THE-WAY! (Chanting)

How long you've been doing photography?
I've been taking snaps seriously for about a year and a half now, homie.

What inspired you to become a photographer?
What inspired me to become a photographer? I know I just repeated the question for no reason... Maybe cause I'm stalling. It's tough to think about just one thing that did it. Instead I believe it was many things over a long period of time. I do remember being fascinated by my grandmothers flash bulbs when I was little. I dunno if you ever seen them, they look just like ice cubes, 1950's style. You would attach them to the top of your camera and they would make that old school "flash popping sound". Fast forward to when I had to decide what the hell I was going to do with my life because for a long time I had no idea; photography was at the top of the list because it had always made me happy. Even that small flash of light and popping sound by itself was satisfying.

Are there any photographers who inspired you?
Tone was one of the first to really inspire me. After seeing his nightlife work and artist profiles I really wanted to do what he did. William Eggleston, Helmut Newton, Annie Leibovitz, David LaChapelle, Lastnightsparty. Lastnightsparty is crazy. I still don't understand how he gets his photos. Terry Richardson. His work mirrors our culture. Lots of photographers hate him cause he's the best photographer out right now. Also I just recently found out about Sandy Kim, her work is sick.

What was your first thing that told you yes I want to do photos?
I took two intro classes in photography at college, very basic courses. We shot slide film and projected our images on the wall. It was projector magic. Or maybe it was the fact that i had a room full of people looking at my work and talking about it... Does that make me vain?

Where do you see your photography heading in the next 5yrs?
More studio work for sure. I like to say I'm taking a break from the nightlife. I'm thinking about trying my hand at fashion actually. Shoot some look books. Bang some models. But who knows. I don't really know what I want. I'm a, "go with the flow" kinda guy. I like to let myself fall into things. I shot a music video which was cool. I've always thought my life would lead me to film someday. Maybe i'll shoot some more music videos.

Do you have your own company?
Aaron Pachesa Incorporated, baby!

What can your clients expect working with you?
I want people to think that I can offer them, "fun"... Fun in a photo.

How you doing today?
I'm good. Feeling good, just trying to stay positive and motivated.

What's your nationality?
I'm Black and Mexican. My mom is Black and my dad is the Beaner. Ahahaha!
How long you been dancing?
I've been dancing for at least 14 years, partying for like 11 of them.

What made you start dancing?
I started dancing back in high school after shit talking to some chick on the phone. There was a party coming up for the juniors and seniors and well I said something like, "oh you girls always say you wanna dance and then you sit down half the night." So yeah, at that point I was just running my mouth forgetting that I had never been to a dance or danced! I had a week before the big school party and spent a weekend watching MTV, back when they played actual music videos, and I just started imitating what I saw in different videos.

What styles of dancing do you do?
If I had to label the style it would be House Dance. Everyone knows I'm the "House Head" so yeah, I do House Dance but lately I've moved out of my comfort zone to try other styles. All dance is related and the fact that house dance pulls from so many other forms I feel comfortable with the switch.

Have you went to school for dancing?
I have never attended a school for dancing. Pretty much everything I've learned has come from going out and watching and doing. I've been to a lot of different parties from rave, house, to hip hop, goth and even reggae. It was at those events I learned and picked up moves here and there. Sometimes I would see a move and it stayed in my head but I couldn't execute it if I tired but then I would get lost in the music and vibe of the party and BAM-it just came out and happened.

What keeps you dancing?
The one thing that keeps me dancing is my love and passion of and for dance. As a dancer I love music and music moves me, doesn't matter what the genre. When dancing I feel FREE, I feel PEACE, and I'm alive doing what I love. Let me not forget to add that dancing is also a fun way to work out and get that CARDIO! Got to have good cardio for when the world is overrun-ed with zombies. Hahaha! Seriously, I just love to dance and express myself, I love moving to the music, feeling the beats, telling a story with them and creating my own story. Dancing for me is a way of life.

Are there any dancers that inspire you?
There a plenty of dancer out there that inspire me. Damn, Michael Jackson would have to go on that list because well...He is the biggest dance inspiration around even til this DAY! Just about everyone knows M.J! There are many others that inspire me like eJoe Wilson (house dancer), the Serial Stepperz Crew (House Dance/hip hop/ bboys), Mawu (female house dance crew), UK (house dancer/bboy/hiphop), Brooklyn Terry and Buddah Stretch...the list goes on and on but yeah, those are some of my inspirations.
Are there any dancers you'd like to work with?
There are many dancers I would love to work with, some of them are the ones I listed as inspirations. I love just sharing a vibe with the dancers I meet out at the clubs. I did get a message on YouTube from UK thanking me for a video compilation I made of him and he did say that maybe one day when he came to NYC we could make a video. That would be fucking awesome if it happens. You never know.

Are you currently working on any dance projects?
Right now I am in the middle of working on a dance project known as ONE SHOT. The ONE SHOT series pretty much goes like this, dancer picks a track they like/love, they dance for no longer than 2 minutes, one take/one shot. No fancy editing or effects, just a nice backdrop, a good track and ACTION! I plan on recording all dancers and friends so I can add to this series and give variety to all the viewers out there on YouTube and Vimeo. Doesn't matter what style of dance or music, it's all about the dance and passion. I want to record them all. Later on down the line I will be doing another series titled EXPRESSIONS. I have one video up for it now. EXPRESSIONS will be more of a story like video project so the videos will be longer and there will be multiple shoots/takes.

Any shouts?
I would like to take this time to send shout out to:
TitoBoyApproved clothing and the homie Neal! Thanks for the T-shirt hook ups!
Shout outs to my boy Deviant, my home girl Jenn, my boy MattyD, the homie Andrew a.k.a @*@rayis, Lamara a.k.a Philosophy, K.Go, and all my dancing friends. All of these people are truly awesome and amazing and has helped to inspire me at different times. Thank you all!
